Mary Ann was the personification of the words devoted and courageous.Despite her many health problems, through the pain she always had a smile, and loved to chat with people. Before she had to live at the Bear Hill Nursing Home, she would love to sit on her porch and watch over the neighborhood.I often kidded her about being the Mayor of Chestnut St...she loved it. When visiting her at Bear Hill, she loved to tell my wife and I about the many trips she and Herold had gone on. But her real pride came out when she would tell us about "her children".She had no children of her own, but she had hundreds of students who were "her children," and she proudly told of their many accomplishments. One student was a Lt.Comdr. in the Navy, another was an FBI Agent, and she would click off the names with pride and a wonderful smile. She was as devoted to her beloved Herold ,as he was to her. They both showed to each other and the world, what true devotion and love are. We will miss her very much...and don't worry Mary Ann, as promised, we will keep an eye out for Herold.
