Condolence & Memory Journal

I am so sad to hear of Ellen's passing. I worked with her in the busy Stoneham tax office and Ellen was one of those people who would walk in the door and make things seem better and calmer, just by her presence.
She had quite a following there as well and so many clients were sad when she decided to retire.
My thoughts go out to all who knew Ellen. She will be missed.

Ellen and I took many tax classes and we worked many tax seasons together at H&R Block in Stoneham. It was a pleasure to have worked with Ellen as a co-worker, mentor and friend. Ellen always spoke highly of her family and I want to give the Craffey Family my deepest sympathy. Rest In Peace my friend I will miss you!

Ellen was my very dear friend during my preteen and teen years, through
junior high and high school. We both were in choir together and were chums
through our teen years. She helped me through my bookkeeping classes as
I could never balance, and she was even then keeping books for a store in
Boston. When I was in college and then moved to Medford, we kept in touch
long distance. She was a bridesmaid at my wedding.

For many years we kept in touch and met once or twice a year for lunch, but
we were a distance away. I live in Norwell and she was in Wakefield. In our
eighties our contact was the telephone. I was always so impressed with her
sharp intellect, her diligence and persistence, and the fact that she kept
working well into her senior years. She was the last living chum of the
large teen group of our high school years, and I will miss our contacts and
conversations so much.

My sincere condolences to her sons and grandchildren whom she loved so
dearly and spoke of often and so proudly. She was very special to me and
I will miss our conversations and sharing of memories. She was a comfort and
companion and listening ear to so many, and a strong, unique, and special
person to all whose lives she touched. Rest well, dear friend. I will miss you
every day.

I worked with Ellen in Stoneham HRB and called her monthly. Just recently called this past Saturday (she always picked up or called back) as she counted the Sat left in tax seasons. She was such a good person and a pleasure to have worked with and enjoyed our many phone calls. I will so miss her.

To the Craffey Family
Your mother was such a delightful person. I would always stop and chat with her when she was out getting her mail or in the yard, when I was out walking my dog. Always pleasant and positive. I was saddened by the news of her passing. May she rest in peace. Our thoughts are with you. Edward and Joan Kirk 2 Tappan Way
