Helen D. (Squizzero) Manetta, 99, of Somerville died Friday, December 20, at the Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham.
Helen was born in Cranston, RI on December 20, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Pietro and Concetta (Masella) Squizzero.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1937 and later a graduate from Burdette College of Boston. She was a longtime employee of the State Street Bank and retired in 1987. She was a Brownie Leader in Somerville and loved cooking, baking and sewing. She was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield and was also a member of the Lady's Guild.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late John B. Manetta. She was the loving mother of Diane Tobin and her husband David of RI., Dolores LeBlanc and her husband Richard, and Doreen Manetta and her husband Ken Phillips all of NH. She was the cherished Nana of Jennifer LeBlanc, Stefanie Signorello and her husband Steve, Marc LeBlanc and his wife Nicole, Lauren Horn and her husband Chris, Heather Thyne and her husband Tim. She was the great-grandmother of Joseph and Ava Coletti, Mackenzie and Madison Horn and Peyton LeBlanc.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday, Dec. 28 beginning at 9am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Interment will be private.
