Jean F. Dunlea, 71, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, passed away at her home on Friday November 19, 2021.

Born in Boston on April 10, 1950, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Rose Marie (Flaherty) Dunlea, and sister of the late Marie L. (Dunlea) Maranville.

Jean attended the St. Joseph Parochial Grammar School and was a graduate of Arlington Catholic High School. She continued her education and became a Registered Nurse after completing studies at St. Joseph College in Maine and the Melrose Wakefield Hospital School of Nursing.

Jean dedicated her life to caring for others, especially children. She spent most of her career as a home-care nurse for children with severe medical needs. At the time of her death, she was working for the Acton Boxborough school system, assisting medically fragile children during busing.

She enjoyed riding her bike around the lake, collecting Irish Santas and teddy bears, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her nieces and nephew, Jean Marie Gibson and her husband Gregory of Westborough, Rose M. Moynihan and her husband Jason of Dalton, and William L. Maranville and his wife Amy of Somerville; and nine great- nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Victoria, Jason, Brianna, McKenzie, Reagan, Erin, James, and Patrick. Jean also leaves many beloved cousins and friends.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Monday, November 29, at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday, November 28, from 2-4 p.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
