Marjorie Babine, 96 of Stoneham formerly of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada died at her home on Saturday January 18.
Born in Halifax, April 20, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hilda (Westaver) Pitts.
Marjorie was raised and educated in Halifax. She was retired from Air Canada. Along with her husband Camille she moved to the United States in 1963 to be closer to her children. They returned to Canada for 20 years before moving back to the Stoneham area. Marjorie loved to keep busy and worked many years for Mann's Garden Center of Malden until the age of 89. She enjoyed Sewing, tole painting, crafts, and making wedding cakes.
Marjorie is survived by her children Richard Babin and his wife Kay of Oklahoma, Barry Babine and his wife Robin of Malden, Juanita Auffrey and husband Richard of Stoneham, Marilyn Spongberg of Methuen, Peter Babine of Malden and the late Yvonne Marr. She is also survived by her brother Mickey Pitts of New Brunswick, Canada, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by many brothers, sisters and 1 grandchild.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Sunday from 2-4 P.M.
Interment will be held in Canada at a later date.
