May C. Smart of Stoneham, died Thursday, June 13 surrounded by family. She was 100 years old.

Born in Chelsea on May 2, 1919 she was the daughter of the late James and Jennie (Meyers) Arsenault.

Mrs. Smart was raised primarily in Massachusetts and had been a Stoneham resident since 1955. Prior to Stoneham, she had been a longtime Woburn resident. Mrs. Smart was a member of Saint Patrick Church in Stoneham.

She was the beloved wife of the late Earl L. Smart. Loving mother of Lorraine M. Smart of Melrose, Paul E. Smart and his wife Linda of Byfield, Robert N. Smart and his wife Jeannette of Wakefield, MaryEllen Smart and wife Lynn Lavallee of Dunstable. She was the sister of Marie Perry of Rhode Island. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7pm.
