Obituary

Stephen M. Dalbec, 61, of Wakefield died on Tuesday, May 23 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Born in New Bedford on October 27, 1955 he was the son of Norman Dalbec of New Hampshire and the late Katherine (McIlmail) Dalbec.

Stephen was raised in Acushnet and was a graduate of New Bedford High School and the University of Massachusetts, Class of 1977. He was a supervisor for National Grid in Lowell. Steve loved his family. He was a Cub Scout leader and was a coach for many of his children's sport teams in Wakefield. He was happiest when surrounded by friends, family and laughter. Steve was an avid sports fan and followed all of the local teams. He knew every statistic and was usually right when a question came up. Steve's passion was golf and skiing which he did whenever he could. Somehow, he knew how to fix everything and was always ready to help anyone who needed him. Steve was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his father, Steve is survived by his wife Lisa A. (Simeola) Dalbec; his son Andrew S. Dalbec of Wakefield; his daughter Caroline V. Dalbec of Wakefield; and his brother Thomas Dalbec. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Dalbec.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Forest Glade Cemetery, Lowell St., in Wakefield on Wednesday, May 31 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714.
