Paul J. D'Amico, 97, a life long Wakefield resident, died on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Born in Wakefield on August 6, 1913 he was the son of the late Sebastain and Coradina (Mirotti) D'Amico. Mr. D'Amico was the former owner of the Center Spa in Wakefield. He was a former professional boxer in the 1930's, a former Auxiliary Police officer for the Town of Wakefield and had worked at Toody's. He was a member of the Crystal Community Club in Wakefield. Mr. D'Amico was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Alfideo). He was predeceased by his two brothers; Salvatore D'Amico and John D'Amico and his sister Josephine Canto. Mr. D'Amico is survived by several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, on Thursday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home prior to the service starting at 10am. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Aseracare Hospice, 40 Washington St, Wellesley, MA 02481.
